Research interests: solvent engineering, switchable solvents, gas-expanded liquids

Controlling solvency and transport properties of a solvent medium, in order to optimize the chemical or physical process performed within is the aim of Solvent Engineering. Control of these properties can have an impact in fields as varied as development of green chemical process or stimuli-responsive systems. Some strategies have been proposed to perform Solvent Engineering among which, reversible CO2-switchable hydrophilicity solvents, gas-expanded liquids and ionic liquids can be cited. The objective of the researches developed is to study solvency and transport properties of these media and to develop applications in the field of advanced materials, emulsions, and soft matter among others.
